17 of our OSHC locations have been selected to deliver the Everyday Food Explorers pilot program, in partnership with the Y Australia.
This four-week program helps children explore:
🌱 Where food comes from
💪 How food supports our bodies
🌏 How food choices impact our environment
🤝 How food connects people and cultures
The program is youth-led, developed by 2026 Change Agent Khalid Muse. It was co-designed with children from our Harvest Home and Moomba Park OSHC services, with the characters and sticker elements inspired by their own creative ideas.
The pilot launched May 2026, with early feedback showing strong engagement and enthusiasm from children.
This is a practical example of how OSHC can support food literacy and complement school and government priorities around health, prevention and equity.
If you’re interested in how this approach could support your school or community, we’d welcome a conversation.
